NTEN Wrapup!
March 24, 2008 on 10:34 pm | In Events and Updates |Calder Strategies’ Thursday late-night launch party was a great success - we looked over the lights of New Orleans and the Mississippi from the 49th floor, shared champagne with friends (and future clients!) and toasted new beginnings, for us and for New Orleans.
During the conference, Katrin and Catherine teamed up with Jed Alpert from Mobile Commons and Hillary Zwerdling from M+R Strategic Services for MAdvocacy: Reach your constituents where they are: On their cellphones! where we discussed successes and challenges of advocacy campaigns using SMS. Katrin ran two other panels during NTEN: one on mobile fundraising, and another on utilizing mobile technology in NGO programming (mobile information services, mobile healthcare, GPS, etc.) We made sure that the attendees at NTEN were able to learn about the application of mobile technology most appropriate to their role and organization. All the sessions were well-attended and had lots of questions and examples from participants. We hope most of the attendees were inspired and intrigued by the possibilities of mobile campaigns to support and expand the missions of nonprofits.
